Palmer Market Research reports have been the most authoritative in these product markets for more than 20 years, subscribed to on a regular basis by most of the leading companies in their respective sectors.

An important reason why they do so is that there are few official statistics about these markets. So our rigorous research is even more vital to their strategic planning. No other agency can provide the combination of detailed measurement and authoritative interpretation.

Detailed five year forecasts make each report a unique marketing planning tool. Future market trends for each product in each sector are derived from both economic and market specific drivers.

Each multi-client report will typically involve many hundreds of structured personal interviews with companies through the supply chain, specifiers and professional clients, backed up by extensive desk research programmes.

To help interpret the report findings, a personal presentation by Robert Palmer at the subscribing company’s offices can be arranged, often at no extra charge.

And we’re independent. In preparing our reports we make sure there is no conflict of interest with particular companies. So there’s no sponsorship of multi-client reports.

The principal of Palmer Market Research is Robert Palmer. Robert trained as a chartered quantity surveyor. After a spell in private practice he joined the then Department of the Environment (DOE) implementing computer applications and carrying out other development projects. Later, the DOE sponsored Robert for a Masters degree in Construction at Loughborough University of Technology.

After leaving the DOE, Robert spent a further spell in private quantity surveying practice before joining the specialist market research agency, Construction Markets.

At Construction Markets, Robert was able to use his construction background to good effect. He assumed responsibility for the research areas of windows & doors, contract floorcoverings, and trade paint & woodcare.

In 1982 Construction Markets was split on a mutually agreed basis and Robert started Palmer Market Research. Since then Robert has greatly expanded the scope and depth of the specialist reports to the point where they have become their respective industry standards.
